Hello
Welcome to Creadigol Colwyn Creative CIC!
We’re Libby and Stuart Loughland, and we founded this not-for-profit to cultivate creativity and connection right here in our local area.
We pour our energy into this mission by:
Offering friendly, inclusive creative workshops and activities designed to help you discover your voice, build confidence, and express yourself.
Championing wellbeing and social connection by bringing people together through creative arts, traditional crafts, and sharing knowledge.
Providing a supportive route back to learning for those who haven’t found their fit in traditional education settings.
Developing real-world opportunities - volunteering, training, and employment - to help members of our community develop new skills and thrive.
As a not-for-profit, we promise that any funds we make above our running costs are fully reinvested right back into our community initiatives.
Why We're Qualified to Lead This Work
Our passion for creativity and community is backed by decades of professional experience in theatre, education, and social support. We don't just run workshops; we have spent our careers using creative arts to connect, educate, and inspire people of all ages and abilities.
Extensive Workshop Experience: Libby and Stuart have designed and delivered creative workshops for children and adults across North Wales and the UK, including regular sessions for Conwy Connect for Learning Disabilities and across Gwynedd County for individuals with learning disabilities and/or autism. They have also facilitated drama, puppet, and magic workshops in primary schools.
Libby has years of experience as a Workshop Facilitator and in Early Years Education, having taught 0-3 year olds at Gymboree, Hampstead and taught dance and drama to 5-15 year olds at a variety of Theatre Schools in London and North Wales.
Theatrical Production Experts: As founders of Magic Light Productions, Libby and Stuart have produced, directed, and written numerous shows, pantomimes, and UK theatre tours. This professional background ensures our projects are run with skill, quality, and technical expertise.
Specialist Skills: Libby is a Welsh Speaker (Second Language) and a member of The Magic Circle (MMC). Stuart is an inner member of The Magic Circle (MIMC), an award-winning illusionist, magic consultant for TV & theatre, puppet-maker and puppeteer who designs and supplies props, scenery, and special effects. These skills allow us to offer unique and specialised creative training.
Community and Events Background: Libby has extensive experience in administration, marketing, business development, event coordination, event management and children’s activities for Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). This knowledge is vital for organising effective community events and providing inclusive activities.
Commitment to Safety and Inclusion: The safety and well-being of our participants are our highest priority. Both Libby and Stuart hold Enhanced DBS certificates and have completed NSPCC Safeguarding Training. Furthermore, Libby holds Mental Health First Aid Training and has Makaton Level 3 training, ensuring we can communicate effectively and provide immediate support in varied circumstances. We continually enhance and update our training regularly to maintain the highest standards of care
